Nursery & Reception
We have been developing our Personal and Social skills; how to be a good friend and the importance of being kind to one another. We have met Dina the dinosaur. She visits the classroom weekly to encourage positive behaviour. Another of our special friends is ‘Tedi Gwrando’ (our listening bear). Tedi Gwrando chooses to go home daily with a child who listens well, shows kindness, shares toys or helps others.
Our theme for this term is ‘Homes’
We have been looking at homes and discussing our own homes. We also looked at animals’ homes and had fun guessing where they live!
In our building area we have been building our own houses with the big blocks.
We have been talking about family and friends. We will be practising our pencil holding skills by drawing ‘our family’.
Outdoors, we found some creepy crawlies! We talked about where they live. Where does the spider live? Where does the slug live? We also played ‘tea time’ in the little house in the garden.
We have been learning to name our 2D shapes in Welsh. We chose our own shapes to design our very own houses using squares, triangles and circles. Lots of sticking and gluing fun!
We will be listening to the story of ‘The three little pigs’ and will be learning more about homes!
Soon, we will be visiting our school garden. We will be discovering which plants and fruits grow there. Then, we’ll have to make a crumble with our tasty apples!
Thanks giving- we will be showing our appreciation for our homes and families by taking part in creative activities including singing. Lots to look forward to!
