Love4Language week
To celebrate the week, year 3 and 4 pupils created acrostic poems about Saint David. As part of the term’s art work the pupils have been studying paintings by the artist from Ceredigion Ruth Jên and imitating her style including some familiar Welsh nursery rhymes.
Year 5 and 6 had fun creating playground games. There was a competition in each class to see which was the best, and the winning game will be shown to schools in the catchment area.
World Book Day
To celebrate the day pupils had the opportunity to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. The children also brought books to school to sell and the children enjoyed going to the second hand book fair to buy a book.
Science Fair
Year 5/6 pupils attended a Science Fair held at the University in Aberystwyth. They had the opportunity to experiment and learn about different aspects of science. There were various stalls for the pupils to have practical, live experiences.
NSPCC
The children were given a lively and useful presentation by Rhian from the NSPCC. The message was the need to tell someone if something was worrying them. When speaking, a problem reduces. Year 5/6 had a workshop in the afternoon to discuss the main messages of the presentation through various activities. Thanks to Rhian for her time and to the NSPCC for the resources.
